For the 2nd year in a row Sony Pictures Television have launched their Diverse Directors Program to bring career opportunities to filmmakers from different backgrounds.

The SPT Diverse Directors Program is giving directing talent the opportunity to work on various SPT series with the support of members from the Directors Guild of America who will guide successful applicants and provide assignments for them to complete. Directors will also get to attend special episodic directing workshops and other events to support their training whilst receiving a weekly stipend when participating in productions.

Applicants must provide a work resume, a statement of intent explaining their background and details of previous experiences along with a short video of their work that has attained at least 10,000 hits online. This year's program is still accepting new directors until Monday 13th July. To apply check out the website for more information.

As diversity remains a key topic in the film industry, production companies are starting to change their employment practices to give directors with diverse backgrounds the chance at working on TV and film productions. You can check out the latest job offers from Sony Pictures Television and other leading studios on our job board. Good luck!
