Mitt Romney has made a political 'faux pas' ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games which has been publicly rebuked by Prime Minister David Cameron and London Mayor, Boris Johnson.

In the eyes of the world media, Mitt Romney is making his mark, and on the web, filmmakers are surely gearing up to parody America's next presidential rival to Barack Obama. Mitt Romney managed to cause a stir when he stated that developing concerns over the UK's readiness for the games were "disconcerting". Having overseen the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002, Romney asserted his expertise in perhaps the wrong way, insulting the UK's pride in preparing the games.

In a rare division between close allies, British Prime Minister David Cameron quickly responded to Romney:

"We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it's easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere."

This of course, was in reference to Romeny's experience of the games in Utah, which is in the desert.

Whether the political 'mistake' will cause friction on opening day is unclear, but Romney, a conservative, has already managed to lose support from the Conservative led goverment in the UK. What more can go wrong for him?
