Hello readers! It’s Ceej! I’m a 16 year old singer-songwriter, born and raised in California, and a fellow youtuber. So as you have or haven’t heard, I’m one of your new bloggers here on FIN! For my first blog post (tediously chosen), I’ve finally decided to fill you in on something that I was involved in recently, which was Perez Hilton’s latest video contest. 

For those of you who don’t know who Perez Hilton is, he is hugely known for running a very popular gossip site. He recently opened up a contest to find out who could do a standout cover of Adele’s hit “Someone Like You.” The contest didn’t have many guidelines, but after finding out the winners, I kind of ended up wishing I’d taken a slightly different route with my cover. 

When my management first approached me with this cover contest, I was a little hesitant, because I thought it’d be a waste of time making a cover, thinking that it wouldn’t even end up being watched due to the heavy number of people I knew would be joining the cover competition. Luckily, it was worth it, because not long after, I knew Perez had seen it, because he replied to my link of the video on twitter!

The winning duo: Charlie Puth and Emily Luther won with a beautiful, pre-recorded glee-esque version of the Adele tune. Maybe next time I’ll try recording the audio with a cool video, which won’t be too hard since I was recently contacted by EditorsKeys to receive some sponsored recording equipment! Win!
