After “Wedding Crashers” grossed $285 million worldwide in 2005, it was only a matter of time before a sequel was going to be on the cards.
Confirmed by Isla Fisher on the Today Show, the actress mentioned that Vince Vaughn had spoken to her at a party and told her that a sequel was in the works. The orignal film was generally well received and starred Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher and Christopher Walken.
With a 75% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, the film was widely ‘loved’ by audiences for being highly entertaining and also featured a cameo with Will Ferrel. There are few details available about where the storyline will go in the upcoming sequel but after 10 years the original R-rated comedy sets the bar high for a follow-up movie at a time where audiences are tired of remakes and franchises.
