Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Vanessa Paradis has penned a letter defending him in the face of allegations that he assaulted Amber Heard, who filed for a divorce May 23rd.
A copy of the letter was obtained by TMZ, which was reportedly written by hand and signed by the French star who was married to Depp for 14 years.
She said that:
“Johnny Depp is the father of my two children, he is a sensitive, loving and loved person, and I believe with all my heart, that these recent allegations being made are outrageous, in all the years I have known Johnny, he has never been physically abusive with me..”
Lily-Rose, Depp’s daughter also came to his defense on the same day that Amber filed the abuse report stating on her Instagram:
“My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know. He’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same.”
Depp’s recent film “Alice through the Looking Glass” took a plunge this week at cinemas and was likely affected by the headlines that he assaulted Heard. The actress secured a temporary restraining order against Depp which was met with skepticism by some reporters who revealed that the LAPD had no evidence to support her claims. However despite this fact, the news has created a backlash against Depp with some calling for a boycott of his films. The cost to Disney and Depp’s reputation could be significant depending on the outcome of the case.
