Steven Seagal's music career nosedives in Estonia

Steven Seagal in 'Nico Above the Law' 1987

Steven Seagal has been banned from a summer music festival in Estonia due to his personal ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who he considers 'A brother'.

Even more alarming to Estonians is how the actor supported Putin's move on Crimea thinking it was "very reasonable," and that he considers the President as friend.

Seagal was scheduled to play at the Estonian Blues Festival but organizers decided to pull him following the downing of flight MH17 and the international anger that has followed it.

According to Estonia's foreign minister, the actor's political ties and views contradict "A world which honors states based on the rule of law."

The growing international outrage since the disaster in eastern Ukraine has badly damaged Putin's image and the anger and disgust is spreading to his prolific supporters such as Steven Seagal, although no word yet on whether Gerard Depardieu is going to hand back his Russian passport.

In the meantime, it is not yet clear how the festival will replace him, or whether Seagal and the Steven Seagal Blues Band will make a straight-to-dvd performance. Although judging by his recent film work, the fans are pretty used to the format.
