Star Wars 7 casting : Too much advice is not going to help you

Star Wars 7 casting advice

There's a lot of debate out there about how to prepare for the 'Star Wars 7' casting. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for young actors, however if you're reading across the web, trying to find the best approach, you'll find hundreds of articles, but all that can work against you.

The bottom line is, there is no one rule to prepare for a Star Wars audition. There are certain techniques you can apply when you get called in to meet the casting directors, but at the end of the day, you need to be yourself. It's a complicated process for a production of that scale to find talent for these very specific and high profile roles. 'Star Wars 7' is also the first outing for Disney, and Lucasfilm, so it's not going to necessarily have the same approach than past movies when it comes to finding the right actors.

There will likely be a combination of personality, looks and acting abilities that will play an important part in the casting decisions but you should really read Disney's advice closely on how to prepare, which is frequently sent out and updated via their official channels. It's no use over-preparing as that can work against you, and create unnecessary anxiety before you go in.
