South African produced animation 'Zambezia' is screening for just a week in Los Angeles till Friday.
With a diverse cast of voice overs from Samuel L Jackson to Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, 'Zambezia' is set on the Victoria Falls and follows the adventure of Kai, a young falcon. The film has been submitted for the 2013 Academy Awards and will contend for the nominations among 20 other animation features.
Animations that have been submitted for Academy Award consideration include Tim Burton's acclaimed 'Frankenweenie', 'Wreck-It-Ralph' and international hit 'Madagascar 3 : Europe's Most Wanted'.
In order for animation features to qualify for the Oscars, they must meet the theatrical release requirements. They can also be considered for other categories if succesful during the voting process.
'Zambezia' is supported by the National Film and Video foundation and produced by Triggerfish Studios. It is currently running till Friday at the Regency Plant Stadium in Van Nuys.
