Alec Baldwin faces mounting criticism for anti-gay slur

Homophobic comment puts Baldwin under pressure

MSNBC has suspended Alec Baldwin's show after he made an alleged homophobic slur against a photographer and called him a "c**k sucking f*g".

This is not the first time the actor has caused an uproar. On several occasions the actor has been involved in angry encounters with photographers, and in one incident punched a New York Daily News employee back in 2012.

It was confirmed a short while ago that MSNBC suspended Baldwin's show for two episodes however, that hasn't stopped a chorus of angry comments from people across the nation:

After making an apology, Baldwin was criticized again by Anderson Cooper, who publicly condemned the actor and called him a liar on his Twitter account:

In response to mounting criticism Baldwin turned to his Huffington Post blog today and stated that:

"I never used the word faggot in the tape recording being offered as evidence against me. What word is said right after the other choice word I use is unclear."

'Up Late With Alec Baldwin' is scheduled to return on air November 29th, however Baldwin added uncertainty to whether the show would return at all:

" …if the show dies, its fate ends up being no different than the vast majority of start-up TV programming, and so be it. We do take a small amount of pride in knowing that we beat CNN…."

The actor recently played opposite Cate Blanchett in 'Blue Jasmine' directed by Woody Allen, and regularly appears in various commercials including Capital One's venture card ad.
