Selena Gomez went home happy, winning favourite Breakout Artist with the Scene. She fended off stiff competiton from the likes of Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Kesha and B.o.B

The People's choice Awards this year was marked with some memorable performances, and some cringe worthy drama that made it that extra special.

Queen Latifa was dancing with Neil Patrick Harris when it turned awkward. After the commercial break, Latifah made the mistake to ask the former host how she was doing in which he replied:

"You're doing OK, I give you a solid B+."

The audience then booed the pair. Other memorable moments included Conan O Brien s triumph over Oprah, which he teased about in his acceptance speech.

Gomez had the audience captivated partly because the song is catchy, but mostly due to the headline-making news that the "Wizards of Waverly Place" star is Justin Bieber's new love interest, and fans were likely intrigued to see how Gomez's musical stylings compared to Bieber's. - MTV
