Richard Briers Tribute documentary will reveal insights into his past

A new documentary that highlights the life of actor Richard Briers will air today on BBC2.

Featuring a range of interviews and anecdotes from both professional colleagues and close friends, the documentary will highlight Briers' work in both TV, film, radio and on the stage.

Briers, who died last month had a sensational career spanning half a century. His work in BBC sitcoms including 'Ever Decreasing Circles' and 'The Good Life' will also be featured as part of the tribute documentary. Briers most recently appeared in Brit Zombie comedy 'Cockneys vs Zombies'.

Born on January 14th 1934 in Surrey, Richard Briers has been nominated once for a BAFTA TV Award and took home the 'Best Actor' Magnolia Award in 2005 for his role in 'Dad' at the Shanghai International TV Festival .

The documentary will start at 7pm today on BBC 2.
