The 2013 BAFTAs red carpet event is now underway as the stars approach the Royal Opera House. Hugh Jackman has just arrived, and other big stars are expected to attend this evening including the likes of George Clooney, Daniel Day Lewis and Ben Affleck.
Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Keira Knightley are also attending this evening. Martin Freeman, star of 'The Hobbit', also in the competition at the BAFTAs, just gave an interview regarding this year's selection:
(conducted by the BBC)
"As you can imagine it's a couple of years plus of work, the like of which I've never seen before. It's always great. I'm just enjoying being at home..
"Series three of Sherlock starts soon…it's another good couple of jobs…..
On the films in the selection:
"I've enjoyed Django unchained. He (Quentin Tarantino) makes westerns look effortless. I really like 'Quartet', which has been overlooked..I've not watched everything yet."
Response to the British Film Industry as a whole:
"I think it's always doing alright. I think in the last 25 years…to be absolutely honest, I'm British, I love films. I don't really care who makes them. I just want there to be good art in the world."
