Quentin Tarantino’s early recognition for ‘Django’

The Hollywood Film Awards is considered to be ‘the official launch of awards season” leading up to the Oscars.  Often the HFA awards distribution is indicative of who may be receiving the Golden Statues in February.  The unique aspect of this HFA ceremony is that all of the awards given are for films which have not been released yet.  Leading now to Quentin Tarantino’s early recognition for ‘Django’.

One of the presenters, Seth Rogen, commented , “Perhaps the most amazing thing about this awards show is that none of these movies have come out,” Seth said. “I haven’t even heard of some of these movies yet. That’s how far out they are.”

The spotlight is now on the ‘Screenwriter of the Year’ award given to Quentin Tarantino for the film ‘Django’.  Tarantino commented on his early win by saying, “I could use it as ammunition to defend long dialogue scenes during the editing process.” He then added jokingly,” I’ll be able to say, hey, you want to take a line out of my AWARD-WINNING screenplay?”

‘Django Unchained’ is set in the South two years before the Civil War, where a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter.  Dr. King Schultz. Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty.
