It was a national secret; the Queen 'parachuting' into the Olympic stadium after a cut scene with Daniel Craig as Bond. However, the Princes didn't know anything about the stunt.
In a BBC Exclusive, the Princes revealed how they had been kept out of the loop before the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. The highly secretive filming of the Queen and Daniel Craig was a well kept secret even in higher circles and the Royal family.
It is nothing short of a miracle that the stunt and the Bond short film was kept under wraps until the opening ceremony but the Queen's involvement boosted national pride thereafter. The film was very well received as it was broadcast live, and then moments later a helicopter went through the Tower of London and arrived at the Olympic stadium to reveal a parachuting 'Queen'.
"We were kept completely in the dark about it, that's how big the secret was….Harry got a sniff of a rumour on the night and the rumour mill was going into overdrive but in fact she did such a good performance that she's been asked to star in the next Bond film. I'm thrilled for her."
