A new ad released by Macy's features an odd cast including Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, Justin Bieber, Carlos Santana, and Taylor Swift.
Among all these stars, Tommy Hilfiger and Marcus Samuelsson also make an appearance in what could be described as a Disney-like fantasy advertisement. The Macy's ad features a nice, cheesy classic Christmas tune, a lush decor of Christmas lights, Kris Kringle (in black and white), gifts and shoppers in a big store.
It's unusual cast of pop sensations and media moguls does raise an eyebrow or too but so far the ad as it stands has failed to have any viral success. Although today, close to 500,000 people have now signed a petition asking Macy's to drop Donald Trump from the lineup. Could this give some added boost to this exceptionally un-viral advertisement?
'Miracle on 34th Street' was originally released in 1947 and then remade by 20th Century Fox in 1994. The ad makes references to the movie.
