Madonna defies Russian government, releases freedom of speech video

Madonna releases Gay rights concert video

Madonna's advocacy for the jailed Russian band 'Pussy Riot' has gone up one gear with the release of this new concert footage defending gay rights.

Before the concert took place in St. Petersburg the U.S Embassy warned people attending that they had received a threat of violence. In the aftermath of the concert, leading Russian politicians condemned her speech.

One particular comment made on Twitter came from a senior ally of President Vladimir Putin, who is also a former envoy to NATO.

In reference to Madonna he stated:

"Every ex-who*e tends to lecture everybody with age. Especially during world tours and concerts."

Even before the concert took place Moscow made several warnings about her preaching her ideas to the crowds but she ignored them.

The 'Pussy Riot' trial is being watched by international rights groups and will be concluded on August 17th.

Iconic quotes from the video

"Fight for the right to be free, to be who we are. Yes. Yes"

"At the centre of non-violence stands the principal of love, and who said that? Martin Luther King Jr said that."

"I am here to say that the gay community and gay people here and all around the world have the same rights!"
