The highly futuristic and impressive “Mad Max: Fury Road”
The National Board of Review is a non-profit and was set up in 1909 to honor excellence in filmmaking and to support the freedom of expression. The board views more than 250 films a year from animated productions to foreign-language films and documentaries.

In 2015, “Max Max: Fury Road” was voted the Best Film while Ridley Scott was awarded Best Director for “The Martian.”
The National Board of Review’s annual gala took place on Tuesday in New York and also acted as a fundraiser to support student grants. This year’s event was hosted by Willie Geist.
Among this year's winners was Brie Larson, who was awarded Best Actress for “Room," while Matt Damon was voted Best Actor for his role in “The Martian.” Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” won Best Original Screenplay and Sylvester Stallone was voted Best Supporting Actor in “Creed.” Stallone is also tipped for an Oscar nomination after the film received glowing reviews from critics and fans.
