Linkedin is down, service disappears for some users

Linkedin, the world's largest professional social network is down and facing technical issues after users began reporting the site had become unavailable.

Currently the site is unavailable and doesn't load for some users. There is no warning message or error when users click on the homepage link.

While the problem may only be affecting some users, it is the latest in a string of high profile website outages that continue to occur despite enormous advances in cloud technology, and computer networks.

Just this past week, the BBC faced a sever 'server overload' causing their main website to become unavailable to millions. In addition, the service also had problems affecting the iPlayer.

We will keep you updated on the Linkedin status.
