Producers of 1991 hit 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' are being sued for concealing payments and fraud among other contract violations.
To date, the studio states that Costner has earned more than $40 million from the movie. Having grossed almost $400 million at the worldwide box office, 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' received critical acclaim and is one of Costner's biggest classics. Despite this, the lawsuit, filed this week in a US court, alleges that Costner was promised a profit share when he agreed to play Robin Hood. This has not been the case since 2010, and the lawsuit also alleges that Morgan Creek Productions assigned "Distribution rights to an international subsidiary" which violated the deal.
Most recently, Kevin Costner defeated Setphen Baldwin in court after he had been accused of cheating him out of a BP contract deal after the 2010 oil spill.
