Justin Bieber, Rihanna & Kanye West accused of credit 'fraud'

You would be surprised to hear that Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Kanye West have all been accused of faking their own song credits, but a recent revelation reveals a dark secret.

Songwriter Heather Bright has publicly spoken out about how artists benefit from songwriting and publishing credits when they have little or no involvement in those areas. Bright has written several songs including Britney Spears Trouble For Me and Justin Bieber s Somebody To Love .

Justin Bieber allegedly co-wrote all the songs on his latest album My World 2.0 but had no involvement in it whatsoever. Kanye West and Rihanna regularly take songwriting and publishing credits when they do not contribute anything creatively to that process according to Bright.

If these allegations are true, and that these artists did not contribute in these areas, what will happen to those royalties that should be going to songwriters? What does this mean for songwriters in the industry who are given no credit when they actually contribute to creating the song? Bright s comments could have a huge impact on major artists and labels. While her comments will be looked at very closely, it is too early to start pointing fingers, but it is not something we wanted to hear about our favourite artists.
