Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis announce split

Depp and Paradis seperate after 14 years

Johnny Depp's publicist broke the news Tuesday afternoon that both Depp and Paradis had officially split. In a statement issued to Entertainment Tonight, Depp's publicist asked the public to respect the couple's privacy and the privacy of their children.

After moving to Los Angeles from the south of France, rumours about the couple's deteriorating relationship continued without a confirmed report of their separation. Depp and Paradis have never married and have often stated publicly their desire to remain romantically attached without the label of marriage.

Johnny Depp was one of the most high profile American actors to call France his home along with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

The announcement of the split was planned when Paradis left for France to promote her latest film 'Je Me Suis Fait Tout Petit' according to People Magazine.

The couple have a son and a daughter; Jack aged 9 and Lily-Rose, 13.
