John Travolta’s latest film “Gotti” earned praise from audiences following a barrage of negative reviews by movie critics.

Starring as Italian-American crime boss John Gotti, Travolta managed to captivate audiences at the expense of film critics who savaged the movie saying it was unwatchable and that his career was now in danger.

The biographical drama, which got stuck in a development paralysis for a number of years, was originally scheduled for release last December but got delayed when Lionsgate sold the film back to the producers, who had to find a new distributor. It then received a limited theatrical window, and premiered at last month's Cannes Film Festival.

Despite receiving a 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, “Gotti” managed to gather a solid 78% approval from audiences. This was also confirmed by Google reviewers who gave it more than 7/10 with a 72% score.
