Jennifer Lopez announced at the finale of American Idol Season 14 that she will be performing a residency in Las Vegas next year. She is scheduled to play 20 shows at the Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood beginning January 20th.

"I've been preparing for this moment my entire life,” J Lo said in a press conference. “The show is going to be a multifaceted high energy Jenny from the Block party, mixing all aspects of what my fans and I love: dance, hip hop, Latin and pop. It’s going to be the show I’ve always dreamt of creating.”

Each of J Lo’s shows will run for 2 hours, featuring some of her hit songs including Love Don't Cost A Thing, Jenny From The Block, and If You Had My Love. A live band, group of dancers, and high-tech special effects will be accompanying J Lo throughout her performances in 2016.

Despite having residency work in Las Vegas, the Shall We Dance? (2004) star said that she will still work as a judge in the next season of American Idol, which is believed to be the last hurrah of one of the U.S.’ longest-running reality TV shows.

Apart from doing concerts and being a judge, J Lo occasionally stars in some Hollywood movies. She is most notably known in the film industry for her role as the protagonist of Selena, which features the life and career of one of the most popular Tejano music icons. J Lo’s most recent film called The Boy Next Door, where she plays the role of a cheated-on married woman who falls for a young man next door, was released in January 2015.

Las Vegas establishments suffered notable losses since their online counterparts, which provide language support for non-English speaking players and extra gaming credits for first-time clients, became powerful forces on the Internet’s gaming culture. EDM nightclubs and residency shows – things that online casinos cannot provide for their players – are a means for Las Vegas casinos to attract back customers. Thus, have become extremely popular and alternative revenue streams for many Las Vegas casinos of late hence why we see established acts such as J Lo scheduled to perform at Planet Hollywood.

J Lo will be playing shows on the following months: January (20th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 29th, and 30th), February (3rd, 5th, 6th, and 9th), May (22nd, 25th, 28th, and 29th), and June (1st, 3rd, 4th, 8th, 11th, and 12th). Tickets for her performances are now available as early as now at Planet Hollywood’s site.
