Jennifer Lawrence wins Best Supporting Actress

The annual National Society of Film Critics contest has revealed this year's winners which includes Jennifer Lawrence, who gained the most votes to top the 'Best Supporting Actress' category for her role in 'American Hustle'.

Up against Lupita Nyong'o, Léa Seydoux and Sally Hawkins, Jennifer Lawrence managed to get 54 votes, with Lupita Nyong'o running in second place with 38.

Overall Jennifer Lawrence won 42% of the total votes cast in the selection.

Jennifer Lawrence in American Hustle

This year's 'Best Actress' Award went to Cate Blanchett, who was recognized for her excellent work in 'Blue Jasmine'. Blanchett received a total of 57 votes in the category.

Respected film critics used a weighted ballot system to cast this year's vote and winners will receive scrolls in the mail.
