J.J. Abrams admits showing 1st cut of Star Wars 7 was “horrifying”

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" director J.J. Abrams revealed this week how he was horrified to show the first cut of the movie to Disney.

Following the $4.05 billion acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, Disney went on to hire J.J. Abrams to direct the 7th Star Wars film and he recently showed the first cut of the movie to Disney’s top execs including Bob Iger, Alan Bergman and Alan Horn. EW reports that the director was “nervous beyond words” as he sat in a theater with the Disney chiefs to watch an unfinished cut of the film.

With such high pressure on Abrams to deliver arguably the biggest movie of his life, it was probably one of the most intense moments of his career. Given the scale of film and what it would mean if it wasn’t up to scratch for Disney, Abrams was certainly on edge. Thankfully it received a positive reception and with just over two weeks to go before it comes out, we are getting close to fever pitch with the anticipation.
