Huffington Post takes a hit

We reported earlier that the Huffington Post was experiencing technical difficulties like many other millions of websites, however it would appear that Sandy has completely knocked out one of America's leading newspapers.

In the hours preceding the storm, flooding had commened in low-lying areas. That flooding has become widespread. There are shocking videos on Youtube that show the devastation. 6.5 million people are believed to be without power in the early hours of the morning as the storm moves slowly inland.

While the Huffington Post website was knocked out, others have remained online for now. The Amazon Cloud services based in Virginia has remained online, although due to limited supplies, more infrastructure is expected to go offline in the coming hours.

Are you in affected areas? Do you know of any websites currently offline? We will bring you the latest developments as they happen.
