Hollywood won't adapt 'No Easy Day', Pentagon steps up legal action

Author of 'No Easy Day' faces legal action

Ex-Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette (referred to as Mark Owen) faces legal action from the Pentagon for his account of the Osama Bin Laden raid, while reps for DreamWorks have denied any adaptation of the book.

Steven Spielberg had been tied to a movie based on the highly controversial novel, but rumors of its adaptation into a major motion picture were quickly denied.

The Pentagon general counsel is now threatening legal action against the former Navy Seal as his Osama Bin Laden raid account violates secrecy agreements.

'No Easy Day' was recently reviewed by the Defense Department according to CNN, to ensure that it contained no classified information, however, it soon followed up with a letter to the author regarding specific breaches.

With over 500,000 copies produced, the book will be released on 4th September.

Analysis of 'No Easy Day'

It would seem that there are serious questions regarding the information contained in the account of the Navy SEAL raid on Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. Should specific information regarding operations be 'leaked' to the general public, it could constitute a breach under federal law and endanger the lives of other operatives in the field. If a movie adaptation was made from the information contained in the book it could provide information about military operations to foreign governments.
