World famous composer Hans Zimmer is launching an online course with MasterClass to teach his music composition techniques.
The German-born Oscar-winning composer is one of Hollywood’s most recognized names and joins a host of stars including Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman and Christina Aguilera who have launched their masterclasses on the platform.
Zimmer was awarded an Oscar for Best Music, Original Score in 1995 for Disney’s global hit “The Lion king.” The composer has also been nominated 8 times for an Oscar for his work on films such as “Gladiator”, “Sherlock Holmes”, “Inception” and most recently, “Interstellar” in 2015.
Working as a music producer, executive score producer and a music consultant on the biggest Hollywood films, Hans Zimmer has a career spanning several decades going back to the early 80s.
In his new Masterclass, Zimmer will teach students how he creates sounds from nothing and his method of scoring a film before he’s even seen it.
On pre-sale as of today, the class, that costs just $90 includes 30 video lessons and a downloadable workbook. Students will be able to upload their work to get feedback and select compositions will also be critiqued by Zimmer.
