Going Viral: Disney's 'Maleficent' trailer starring Angelina Jolie

It's been just 24 hours since the new trailer for 'Maleficent' was released and already the video has attained huge international attention.

With over 1.6 million views, 12000 likes and thousands of comments, the hype for Disney's 'Maleficent' could be an early indication of the film's global appeal when it comes out in May next year.

Angelina Jolie will play the role of Disney's iconic character alongside the likes of Juno Temple, Elle Fanning and Sam Riley. With an estimated budget of $200,000,000, the story of 'Maleficent' will be told through the eyes of a villain, and will reveal how her heart "hardened" and drove her to curse Princess Aurora.

To-date, Jolie's most successful film at the box office was in 2005 hit 'Mr & Mrs Smith' playing the role of an assassin opposite her future partner, Brad Pitt. The film grossed over $180m domestically.
