"We were delighted to support Nicholas, Tristan and the team on Ellston Bay. Choosing to shoot large format and in particular VistaVision was really ambitious and the end result shows both their creativity and determination.”

Director Nicholas Eriksson stated:

"Thanks to the support of IMAX Corporation and ODEON UK, I am thrilled to be able to present Ellston Bay on the BFI IMAX, Britain's largest screen. Originating Ellston Bay on 35mm VistaVision was a great challenge made possible by the incredible support of our investors and supporters. To be able to present the finished film in IMAX, the most immersive of cinema formats, is truly a dream come true for the entire team behind the project."

Producer Tristan Loraine commented:

“Very few feature films, let alone a short film, are ever shot in this remarkable film format, add to that filming in VistaVision in the underwater tank at Pinewood and you end up with a short film that is truly unique. It's a tribute the director Nicholas Eriksson and his vision to use VistaVision and Kodak for their incredible support that this film project was able to come to life. Watching the film on an IMAX screen is a whole new cinema experience and one I and Fact Not Fiction Films are delighted to have been part of.”

Production Manager Beth Moran stated:

“The crew did a great job. So far the film has now been submitted to fifteen of the leading short film festivals around the world and we hope they like it.”

‘Ellston bay’ tells the story of a middle-aged man who becomes increasingly concerned for his elderly father's welfare (Played by John Rhys-Davies (Lord of the Rings, Raider’s of the Lost Ark)) after leaving repeated telephone messages at his childhood home by the coast. On arrival, he discovers no sign of his father or any clues as to his whereabouts. The son enlists the help of the local authorities and enquires with the nearby villagers as to his father's likely location. Unbeknown to the son, the people that he encounters are not all that they seem and cannot be trusted.

The film has been submitted for consideration to Raindance Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival and Encounters Festival in the United Kingdom and Indy Shorts International Film Festival, Camden International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Edmonton International Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival, Cork Film Festival, LA Shorts International Film Festival, Show Me Shorts Film Festival, HollyShorts Film Festival, Leuven International Short Film Festival and Calgary International Film Festival overseas.
