A member of Jackie Chan's film crew has been killed after drowning in the waters close to Hong Kong.

The cameraman for Chan's latest film 'Skiptrace' was onboard a boat with other crew members when it capsized just out from the shore.

According to local reports, 7 other members of the crew were able to swim out from the capsized vessel but one man was found unconscious and later pronounced dead. Cameraman Chan Kwok-hung, an industry veteran, was 51-years-old with many movie credits to his name and over 20 years of experience

Jackie Chan was not onboard the boat at the time it capsized but there is conflicting information on who was on the boat at the time it went under.

Directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2) 'Skiptrace' is being co-produced by Jackie Chan and stars Johnny Knoxville and Chinese actress Fan Bingbing who has topped China's Forbes 100 for the past two years. Jackie Chan plays the lead as Benny Black.

The film's producers have not officially revealed the cause of the accident but a police investigation is now underway.

'Skiptrace' tells the story of a Hong Kong detective who has to team up with a gambler to fight a vicious Chinese criminal. The film is also penned by Jackie Chan, and Brian Gatewood.
