Chris Brown beats Rihanna with 6 BET Awards nominations

Chris Brown’s recent success with ‘Fame’ continues at the 2011 BET Awards, with 6 nominations, opposed to Rihanna’s 4 and beating Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

Surrounded by controversy earlier this year for breaking a window backstage on ABC’s GMA, the singer’s career has almost recovered to its former glory.

Rihanna was in the media spotlight recently for adding Chris Brown on her twitter, and vice versa. The backlash didn’t change their online appearances but Rihanna drew criticism for bashing a fan about adding Brown.

With these two appearing at the BET Awards, will there be a public reconciliation, perhaps a performance? Nothing is ever certain except for those who didn’t get nominated. Keyshia Cole responded to her snub with this statement on twitter:

Keyshia
"That awkward moment when u realize in everyone's eyes your not the s--- anymore. #POW. I've officially got the memo. Thank mtv/bet,"

Chris Brown is up for Best RnB artist at the 2011 BET Awards which takes place on June 26th at the Shrine Auditorium in LA.
