The racial taunt was witnessed by several bystanders at the Tampa Bay Times Forum before both attendees were ejected.
The racist remarks were rebuked by convention officials shortly after they had been made aware of the incident, releasing a statement strongly condemning their behaviour:
"Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated."
It is unclear whether CNN will press charges against the attendees.
