'American Sniper' to be re-edited? Jesse Ventura wins big

Jesse Ventura has won $1.8 million in damages from the estate of 'American Sniper', after a jury found the best-selling book defamed him.

Chris Kyle who wrote the book alleged that Ventura had claimed the Navy SEALs "deserve to lose a few," and following the insult he subsequently punched him in the face at a bar. Ventura's attorney, according to Dallas News, argued that Kyle had claimed Ventura hated America, and Kyle had:

"Made him a pariah in the community that mattered most to him - the brotherhood of current and former SEALs."

After 6 days of deliberations, a verdict was made today to award Jesse Ventura compensation, but following the success of the book, a movie adaptation of 'American Sniper' has also been produced.

Directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, 'American Sniper' will tell the story of the former Navy SEAL who recounts how he killed more than 150 people in the line of duty.

The film is set for a 2015 release but it is unclear whether today's defamation case will force Eastwood to re-edit the picture, if they have included the bar fight scene.
