2014 Golden Globes Awards nominations announced

The 2014 Golden Globes nominees have just been announced including the likes of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Sally Hawkins and Jennifer Lawrence in Best performance categories.

This year's nominees for Best TV Drama include : 'Breaking bad, 'Downton abbey', 'The Good Wife, 'House of cards' and 'Masters of sex'.

Other contenders for the 71st Golden Globes Awards include '12 Years a Slave' and 'Philomena', two of the competing films up for Best Motion Picture.

Alfonso Cuaron, Alexander Payne, Paul Greengrass and Steve Mcqueen are all contending for 'Best Director', while films competing for 'Best Musical Comedy' include 'American Hustle', and 'The Wolf of Wall street'.

'Star Trek' actress Zoe Saldana joined Aziz Ansari and Olivia Wilde to reveal the nomination list which was announced live via NBC's Today Show.

The 71st Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina fey, and will be broadcast on Sunday January 12th, 2014. The Golden Globes is the first major award ceremony of the new year, and preceeds the Oscars, and the British BAFTAs.
